To date, I have lived with Flor carpet tiles. I lived with the existing hardwood floors that my old house came with, so they served to hide their scratches and faded glory without drawing attention to them. Now I’m getting brand spanking new brushed oak hardwood floors that deserve some handwoven love so I asked Margot Austin, the master of The Design Edit Blog, to weigh in.

Lena, my two-and-a-half year old’s room has looked the same since her sister, Zoë was born 7 years ago. Everything worked so well with Zoë that I didn’t change a thing. I’ve realized that her room has served us well but a few changes need to be made because she’s a big girl now and needs a bedroom to match.
What’s a mom with genuinely modern problems to do? Go. On. Pintrest. Houzz. Google Image Search. A while back my kitchen renovation was chosen by Apartment Therapy for their Before & After series (click here to view). I’ll admit, I was chuffed by the positive responses. The one thing I noticed, was that many of the comments were requesting to see more images (Apartment Therapy only allows two photos). So, I am happily obliging with a post dedicated to my kitchen reno. I hope you all love it as much as we do!

Two summers’ ago we went on a trip to Lisbon, Portugal. With two kids in tow—and in retrospect, too much luggage—it was exhausting (cue the: ‘what were you thinking?).
