I’m getting ready to sell my house and the first part of this painstaking process is the humdrum duty of de-cluttering. I’m tackling one room every week and it’s shocking to see how much clothing I am sending away to charity drop-offs like Goodwill. After piling up my tees-with-french-ditties and jeans-that-will-never-ever-fit-again, I wondered, where is all of this going? I considered it a great and timely question to ask, especially since I needed a break. Google dutifully did it’s job and brought me to a video called “Unravel”. It offers up a snapshot of women in Panipat, India who sort our clothing so they can be recycled into thread and yarns that are eventually made into blankets. Learning about the process is fascinating, but what’s more amazing is that I gained a new appreciation for my freedom of choice.
